Zach Man!

Zachary would not let me dress him for the day. He just wanted to drive his truck around so I gave up and started playing with the camera. I got a clip of him driving his truck and then this clip which I thought I would share with you. I love how he said grandma. But notice how he went right back to driving truck at the end.

Mexico's Independence Day

In 2 years, 2010, Mexico will celebrate their 200th year Independence from Spain. So we had to take a picture by the count down calender which was just recently put in.

Mexico Independence Day was September 15. Everyone decorates and parties on this day. They have several stages set up in the downtown central area. We were there in the early evening and it was already getting crowded. They had police blocking streets off so there would be room and security for the people. They say it gets really packed.
The party starts late at night, about the time we would be going home from the fireworks. It goes into the early morning. The kids loved looking at all the decorations but Zach preferred an Elmo balloon that he saw in a very large bunch of balloons. What child would not like Mexico. We see this every time you go into the market areas or downtown. Some have large bunches like this of balloons or cotton candy. Its like a carnival everyday.
They have these stands every where. It has anything you can think of from hair bows and shirt pins, to noise makers and flags, hats and lots more. We bought the girls some hair bows and Josh a pin that they wore to school. These stands are on just about every street corner and in every store parking lot. It was fun to feel all the excitement around us.

Zihuatanejo

We had lots of fun at the beach and shopping. The kids favorite part was the beach and water. Emma and Zach were not so excited about the water but loved building sand castles, or in Zach's case just putting sand on every one's head. The kids collected shells which are quite beautiful and walked along the whole beach even racing dad.

We also went shopping and ate at a wonderful restaurant with great Mexican food. The hotel was highly rated but we found that all hotels are like motels back home. But we had a lot of fun and the kids and I can't wait to go back.

Mommy and Me

I got this from Meredith and Cheria. I tried it once before but Emma was not willing to answer then. But it finally worked. So here are some questions I asked her about me. Our thumbs are black because we just finished getting thumbprints for our Visas.

2.What makes mommy smile? "Do stuff you say" "That would be nice"

3. What makes mommy sad? "When I don't eat my food and take peoples stuff" "She is a very picky eater"

4. How does mommy make you laugh? "You do funny faces and funny things" "Like this?"

5. What was mommy like as a child? "Flowers" "What?" "Uh uh"

6. How old is mommy? "4" "How is that possible, your 4" "Not me, you are" "OK"

7. How tall is mommy? "aah Short, um middle?" "?"

8. What is mommy's favorite thing to do? "go on a roller coaster" "why" "Cause that's fun for you"

9. What does mommy do when your not home? "Clean" "Is that all?" "Uh uh"

10. If mommy could be someone on T.V., who would it be? "You should be the high school musical people" "Which one?" "The teacher one" (The drama teacher)

11. What is mommy really good at? "Watching movies" (didn't like that answer)"What else?" "Exercising"

12. What is mommy not good at? "Spilling my food" (Like I said, She is a picky eater. I guess she wishes I would so she wouldn't have to eat it"

13. What is mommy's job? "Clean and fold laundry clothes" (It feels like more than that)

14. What is mommy's favorite food? "Those things (salad) and hamburgers, and grapes, and pop." (it is what we were having for lunch)

15. What makes you proud of mommy? "That you give me treats" "Is that all it takes?"

16. If mommy were a cartoon character, who would she be? "a pretty bunny" "that works for me"
