Happy Thanksgiving!

Instead of turkey on Thursday we worked and went to school so on Friday we went to the beach for the weekend. It was in the 90's during the day and 70's at night. Luckily the air conditioning worked in the rooms. We had two rooms. One for the boys and one for the girls. I got a good nights sleep while Charles got up with Zachary both nights. Charles sent me for a full body massage and I sent him paragliding. It was sunny, beautiful, and we all have sunburns. Not a typical Thanksgiving.......

Zihuatanejo

We had lots of fun at the beach and shopping. The kids favorite part was the beach and water. Emma and Zach were not so excited about the water but loved building sand castles, or in Zach's case just putting sand on every one's head. The kids collected shells which are quite beautiful and walked along the whole beach even racing dad.

We also went shopping and ate at a wonderful restaurant with great Mexican food. The hotel was highly rated but we found that all hotels are like motels back home. But we had a lot of fun and the kids and I can't wait to go back.

Queretaro On A Clear Day!

The humidity leaves it looking like it is over cast but today it is beautiful. We had a hard time getting this picture because the kids said it was too bright. This is the aqueduct that goes to a convent behind Charles who is taking the picture. It felt wonderful. We have had rain just about everyday in the evenings. We decided to take the kids into town for Rachel's Birthday.
There are many fountains and statues downtown. It is fun to walk around and see the shops and vendors on the street. There are many good restaurants with live entertainment but its quite expensive so we only do that once in a while and then only with Charles and I.
We bought Marissa and Rachel purses with their name on the leather. You can see just a little of Rachel's at her side. I love to see all the crafts they make. Its easier to shop with out little ones though. They want to play and touch everything.

Just a quick note. The pictures taken for Rachel's party were in our house in the frontroom. Pretty cool. I really love our home here.

Back to San Miguel when it's not raining

After our experience Tuesday night we didn't quite know what to expect when we went back the next day. What a difference it was. This is in the market place. San Miguel is known as the American town because there are a lot of Americans that live here. It is strange because its in the middle of Mexico with no beach or resort in sight. The Americans started to move there after WWII to get away from polio in the states. Now many famous Mexican actors or rich Mexicans go there to get away from Mexico City. Kind of like a resort town for them.
They have lots of beautiful things for sell and you can find just about anything. The kids loved looking at the pottery, mirrors, jewelry, food, and much more. The market is about 4 blocks long and nicer than most markets because so many Americans live here and expect the best.
The church is very different that what we have seen around here. We thought it was very beautiful in the square. To think of it in so much water the night before, had we not seen it ourselves we would never have believed it. No floods in sight today.
